General Information
Famly and Funding Loop
We use a small number of online platforms to help us communicate clearly with families and manage the practical side of preschool life. Famly is our main communication platform for current families. We use it to share news, reminders, photographs, observations and updates about your child’s time at The Children’s Workshop. Families can also use Famly to keep in touch with the team, receive important messages and access practical information about the setting. It helps us maintain a close connection between home and preschool and gives families a window into the experiences their children are having with us. Funding Loop is used for the administration of government-funded childcare. Families using funded hours may be asked to provide or confirm information through Funding Loop, complete declarations, or upload any documents needed to support their funding claim. Using Funding Loop helps us keep this process organised and makes it easier for families to complete the required paperwork securely and efficiently.
Together, Famly and Funding Loop help us keep both communication and administration as straightforward as possible for families.
Snacks and Lunches
Children bring their own packed lunches to The Children’s Workshop, and we encourage families to include a healthy, balanced selection of foods to keep little bodies full of energy for a busy day of playing, learning, and exploring. We've seen everything from sandwiches and wraps to pasta and plenty of other delicious creations! Fruit and vegetables are always popular too, particularly grapes, apple slices, and cucumber sticks. Please remember to cut grapes lengthways into quarters to help prevent choking.
We kindly ask that any packaged foods, such as yoghurts or cheese strings, are easy for little hands to open, helping children develop their independence at lunchtime. We provide snacks and drinks throughout the day, so there's always an opportunity to refuel between adventures.
The Children’s Workshop is a strictly nut-free setting. Please ensure that all packed lunches and snacks brought from home are completely free from nuts and nut products, helping us keep every child safe..
Uniforms
To help every child feel part of The Children’s Workshop family, we give them their very own T-shirt when they join us. If you’d like a few extras for those particularly muddy adventures, additional T-shirts and cosy sweatshirts are available to purchase. Simply complete our Uniform Order Form and email us.
Parking Permits
At the beginning of each new school year, we'll send home your parking permit in your child's bag, ready for the year ahead. We know that things can sometimes go missing amongst the wellies, coats, and other preschool essentials, so if your permit gets lost, there's no need to worry. Fill in the Parking Permit Form, and email it to us, and we'll be happy to arrange a replacement.
