Admissions and Fees

We want the process of joining The Children’s Workshop to feel as straightforward as possible. Below you’ll find an overview of our admissions, fees and funding arrangements. Full details are available in our Admissions, Fee Structure and Payments Policy.

Admissions

We welcome new children twice each year, with our main intake in September and a smaller intake in January. Children attend a minimum of three sessions each week. A session is one morning or one afternoon. We find that attending regularly helps children settle, become familiar with the team and routines, and feel a strong sense of belonging at preschool.

Places and individual sessions are allocated in accordance with the criteria set out in our Admissions Policy.

Waiting List

To add your child to The Children’s Workshop waiting list, please complete our application form and pay a £50 non-refundable administration fee. Your child will be added to the waiting list once both the completed application and payment have been received. When making payment, please use your child’s name as the reference. Children eligible for an Early Learning for Two Year Olds funded place are exempt from the waiting-list administration fee.

Fees and Opening Times

Our fees include all drinks and snacks provided during the preschool day, but families are encouraged to provide fruit for snack time. Lunches are not provided. The Children’s Workshop is open for 38 weeks of the year, during school terms. We close on Bank Holidays and families are not charged for these days. Occasionally, we may offer special outings, celebrations or activities that fall outside our usual programme. Where there is an additional cost, this will always be discussed with families in advance. Fees are payable termly in advance and are reviewed each year. Families will be given at least one term’s notice of any changes.

Fees for the 2026-2027 academic term are as follows:
Morning (9am - 12pm) £33
Afternoon (12pm - 3pm) £33
Full Day (9am - 3pm) £66
